He was also announced as the face of Holland & Barrett, and concluded his year with a stint as Prince Charming in ‘Cinderella’ at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre in Guildford.

He continued his live reporting at the Golden Globes, fronting ‘Red Carpet Live’ for Sky 1 Movies in 2010, and alongside Kate Thornton, he co-hosted ’71 Degrees North’ for ITV later that year, in which celebrities performed various tasks in the extreme weather conditions of Norway.

The show saw Gethin visit 31 countries, taking on the most extreme and obscure challenges of his life, from flying with the Red Arrows in a WW2 Spitfire to being attacked by an alligator in a Louisiana swamp.

He also raced a horse at 40mph, skated the infamous Cresta Run in St Moritz, fought as a Samurai Warrior in Japan, and survived a life threatening submarine escape training exercise.

Gethin’s wealth of experience with some of the most established shows on TV has lead him to become a popular event host on the corporate circuit.

As an ex professional rugby player, musician, keen adventurer and holder of a degree in Economics and Geography, Gethin appeals to an array of audiences.

The Welsh television presenter quit his job as Blue Peter presenter when he turned 30 in 2008.

Since then he's had various gigs (including a Welsh language rugby quiz show), but most recently he's been getting back into the world of Strictly as a reporter for Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two. Jones will be dancing a Polar Express-themed quickstep with Chloe Hewitt – a chance to get to know the new pro dancer, who has been out of the spotlight this year.

Having joined the Strictly team this year as It Takes Two's roving reporter, Gethin Jones will be having a second attempt at winning after coming third back in 2007.
