Starting a conversation from a one-word message does NOT mean you get to open the floodgates to your lengthy private life goals mission statement - they just want to know if you are interested, or if they find you interest ING. Give back a nice clever reply in a couple sentences, and end it with an open-ended question to encourage her to reply back with more than just a one-word answer.

If a woman said in her profile "don't just say hey to me" and then sent you a message that said "hey" then THAT would be hypocrisy.

Whether you feel disappointed or not is your choice.

Even that can be easily rectified by adjusting mail settings which 90 percent don't or won't. If no, then consider yourself lucky, because somebody actually took the time to write to you!

Some women don't know how to initiate contact, but they try (even if it's a feeble attempt). Well Curious George, you can't really discern "true hypocrisy" from a message that just says "hey".

It used to bug me when I'd get a lazy " hey " msg but then a buddy enlightened me when he said " yeah but if you found her attractive, you'd respond wouldn't you ? People get so damn tired of writing a bunch of stuff only to either get no response or a thx but no thx response.

Don't be so quick to assume it means she's lazy or empty or whatever. It is always nice to have someone show interest in you, unless it is a unwelcome kind like soliciting stuff and the like.A lot of people have this " HOW DARE YOU" attitude when someone sends a message like that and just ruthlessly blocks or ignores them.Plentyoffish dating forums are a place to meet singles and get dating advice or share dating experiences etc.Hopefully you will all have fun meeting singles and try out this online dating thing...Could be she's just checking to see if you'll even respond at all. Maybe she just doesn't know how to start a conversation.
