The billboard, featuring an image of a white couple smiling and hugging, is adverting a new dating site called — which became a viral sensation this week.

The word-of-mouth marketing appears to be working: enrollment more than doubled to 77 members by Friday afternoon, up from 35 just 24 hours prior.

The site has four levels of membership — ranging from free to $69 for full access to the site for anyone 18 and older — but it apparently is configured only for straight white people.

The site’s search allows only women to search for men and allows men to search only for women.

” But despite criticisms that the website is inherently racist, Sam Russell, the 53-year-old Utah man who founded the website with his wife Tami, told the Washington Post that the site is not racially motivated in any way.

He insisted that it was born of the idea that singletons of “every origin, race, religion and lifestyle” can find someone for them, even white people. “The last thing in the world I am is racist.” He compared Where White People Meet to Christian Mingle and Farmers Only as examples of preference-based dating websites.

The creator of the online dating website Where White People Meet has been getting some questions about why he and his wife would build such a site.

The answer, according to the website’s “About Us” page, is “why not?

I've recently seen the commercials for the black only dating site, and was telling my friend that I wish there was a whites only dating site...

Some of these sites are bogus and are there just to collect information.

Happened to come across this and thought I might share with y'all! When I used to go on those sites, I just checked White and then checked features like Blond, or Red hair and blue eyes.
